hi all
my eng man light flashes as soon as key enters the barrel been told its the immobiliser but before i get screwed by vauxhall has any one in the midlands (tamworth) got a tech 2 they wouldnt mind doing a test on my vectra b 120 sri (only had it 6 months and its best car that i have driven for a long time ) for a few beers would be very gratefull indeed p.s i only have one key for my car

hi fella.never had this problem my self but have you tried re-setting it.i no it do's the alrm but could do the fob as well. insert the key and turn ignition on but dont fire the car up.then press the lock button.im sure thats how you do it.could be wrong but theres no harm in trying.

Could be the battery in the fob?

Sounds like the chip in the key is not recognising the transponder unit or vise versa when you turn the ignition on initialy . Take the steering wheel cowling cover off to make sure the plastic block connector is tight on the back of the transponder unit behind the ignition barrel . These sometimes work loose, Failing that it might be the key itself (THEY DONT LIKE BEING DROPRD) or a faulty transponder unit which TECH2 will show up .
