I screwed a new aerial in the top of the vectra - only to find it screwed in so far - then as i kept twisting it - it broke the the inside of the holder so now my aerial moves up and down when im driving, any ideas?
maybe take off the whole holder off the top of the car and get a new one? can i do this?

yeah the new holders can be picked up very easily if just actual holder, about £5-£10 from ebay

to change pull back inner roof lining slightly, unplug washer tubing ( if hatch / estate ), undo the protector around the aerial connection, then 1 bolt holding in place, think 17mm if memory serves, & away it comes.

Only other option is to snap aerial & redrill poss but it sounds like your inner bit has come away
