After some extensive reasearch it has become apparent that if you do not change the (standard air filter) on the vectra 2.2DTI at 10,000 miles this will cause the airmass meter to overheat and put the EML light on .
This can show up as an intermittant fault (ie) the EML light will come on for a short time with a loss of power then go out and everything is back to normal .
It is without doubt that the airmass meter is now faulty and will need replacing as the EML light can come on at any stage .
The price for a knew airmass meter is £102 + vat at vauxhall compared to £10.60 + vat for a (standard) air filter .
Please be advised that if you have fitted a K&N panel filter you must still keep it clean even though it flows more air than the standard unit .

VAUXHALL QUOTE CHANGING THE AIR FILTER (STANDARD) EVERY 40,000 MILES .
