VAUXHALL SERVICE SCHEDULES IN GENERAL:

Air cleaner 40,000
Spark plugs 40,000
Pollen filter 20,000
Engine oil 20,000
Timing belt and rollers/tensioners 40,000
Fuel filter 20,000

The above info is a general guide for vectra models but in my opinion some of these service milages are far to long .
What as not been taken into consideration is short journeys etc .

If you want to keep your vectra in tip top condition you should be servicing parts as below:

Air cleaner 10,000
Spark plugs 10,000
Engine oil 5,000 (semi or fully synthetic)
Fuel filter 10,000

Timing belt intervals are critical if your car service booklet states change at 40,000 you must do this .
Also its not just about milage its also about how long the belt has been on the car .
Vauxhall quote 40,000 or 4 years on a x20xev engine so if you have done say 30,000 milage but the belt is over 4 years you still need to replace it along with the rollers tensioner and tensioner bolt .
Also you need to be thinking about changing the water pump on the x20xev and x25xe models as they have a plastic impeller to flow the anti freeze around the engine and are prone to snapping off causing major damage to the valves etc.
Rule of thumb is change the water pump every second cam belt change .
Vauxhall changed the impellor from a plastic one to a metal one around 2004 but they have now changed it back to plastic again reason unknown .

PLEASE CHECK YOUR SERVICE BOOK FOR INDIVIDUEL MODEL SPEC AS THIS IS A GENERAL GUIDE BASED AROUND A 2.0 LITRE X20XEV ENGINED MODEL .
