I have a Vectra 2.6 with a Y26se engine,
Brought it as a project as the bloke who sold it was under theimpression that a oil light was a indictor of when to put oil in it. Needless to say big bang and a slight rattle later it needs a regrind and reshelling. the best price so far is £40 per set of shells and £90 for a regrind:hurt:
I've looked without much sucess for a replacement 2.6, but have come across a 2.5 fitted to an Omega that sounds nice. The question is will it fit and what do I need to do to the ECU or will the "fly by wire" on my Vectra run the engine ok?

You will have to transfer all the fly by wire related equipment to the 2.5 I THINK to be honest and i know folks will have a giiggle here iam not sure but if you pm s.hows (GOD) he will definatly know as he is a genius on the 2.5 v6 models.
